Choose Movement Holders by Contact, Clearance and Caliber
Compare adjustable holders, cushions, labeled bases and specialized supports by the part they actually support.
| Format or example | When to compare it | Keep this distinction with the choice |
|---|---|---|
| Bergeon 4040-P | Adjustable support for an uncased movement | 20–43 mm movement range, synthetic reversible construction. |
| Singcci GDQ4311 pair | Two differently sized screw-adjusted holders | No minimum/maximum capacity; brass/copper wording unresolved. |
| EUROTOOL cushion | A padded support surface | Different from a clamping or reversible holding mechanism. |
| AGULIUM supplied bases | Support supplied with a complete hand press | 2035,2824/2892,3135 labels; verify the exact movement/contact. |
| Tizuqe accessory set | Four movement holders with tips and a base | No named holder calibers or complete upright press listed. |
| Bergeon 7995 | Balance-cock/balance-spring assembly support | Not a holder for the entire uncased movement. |
Name the workpiece
A case holder supports the exterior case for a separate operation. A movement holder supports the uncased mechanism, and a balance-cock support addresses a smaller assembly. Bergeon 4040-P’s 20–43 mm range refers to movements; it is not a case-opening range or proof that a complete watch can be clamped in the same way.
Choose a cushion when a padded support surface is what the task requires, rather than expecting it to provide the adjustment of a reversible holder. The EUROTOOL cushion and 4040-P are different support formats, not two ways of expressing the same clamping capacity.
Use a diameter range as a first check
Bergeon 4040-P is described as synthetic, reversible and extendable, with a 20–43 mm movement range. The seller calls the material non-marring; that is a useful stated contact property, not a guarantee for every assembly. Check where the support meets the movement and the clearance around projections as well as the diameter.
Singcci GDQ4311 provides two differently sized screw-adjusted holders and describes interchangeable mounts. Their minimum and maximum capacities are not given. The listing also uses both brass and copper for the same construction, so a purchase depending on exact alloy or working size needs confirmation rather than a guess from the image.
Read each caliber label at its actual scope
AGULIUM supplies three bases labeled 2035, 2824/2892 and 3135 with its hand-setting press. Compare the exact movement version, support contact and clearance with the relevant base. Those references do not establish compatibility with every related caliber or watch-brand family.
Tizuqe lists four movement holders, four acrylic tips and one metal base. It does not name the holder calibers or supply a complete upright press. Buying that accessory assortment is different from buying AGULIUM’s full pressing arrangement; confirm both the workpiece support and the tool’s receiving interface.
Keep specialized assembly support distinct
Bergeon 7995 positions a balance-cock with its balance spring during corrections. The seller describes this as intended to avoid contaminating the oil on the staff pivot. That specific purpose explains why an assembly support may be relevant instead of a whole-movement holder; it is not a universal fit or contamination-prevention result.
The missing purchase may be a complete holder, a particular support base or a separate working tool. Count those roles before comparing piece counts. An unsupported receiving dimension should stay an open fit check rather than being borrowed from a similar-looking holder or press.
Questions before you choose
Does the 4040-P range refer to the whole watch?
No. The stated 20–43 mm range describes movements. Actual contact positions and clearance remain important; a case-holding fixture addresses a different workpiece and operation.
Will a base labeled 2824/2892 support my movement?
Confirm the exact movement version, contact positions and clearance. AGULIUM supplies that labeled base alongside 2035 and 3135 bases, but the labels do not establish fit for every related caliber.
Would the Tizuqe set complete a hand-setting station on its own?
No complete upright press is listed. It supplies receiving accessories—four tips, four movement holders and a metal base. Match the missing machine and receiving interfaces separately.
